Case study: Angela. J Cone

My mother was widowed in 1962 - when my brother Martin was aged four, my sister Janet was aged two and my sister Helen was a very small baby. Their father was knocked off his bicycle just a few days after Helen was born. He sustained head injuries and remained in a coma for several months. In the late 1960's my parents met and married and naturally wanted children (.. and naturally,.. my father wanted a son to carry on the family name). Unfortunately they were only able to sucessfully have one child of their own - me . Being in a family with no full siblings, and half siblings that are much older is a weird "neither here nor there" feeling,.. kind of almost being an only child, but not, and it was hard to not feel like the "odd one out". As a result of having no full siblings, I am especially interested in half-sibling comparisons.
